Hey Mike...Have you thought about not making the cars in Funstreet run dots only? Might draw more cars if you allowed slicks...maybe a 9" limit?

I think with the payout what it is, Mike can be a little bit more selective about what is allowed and what isnt.
But I am sure he will answer that himself.. lol...

I like the DOT idea. I always have. When I started True Street it was all DOT's. It was supposed to stay that way, but... You know how things evolve. I'm gonna keep the DOT's in Fun. It's too easy to hook a street tire today. With 7 second radial cars, why worry about slicks.

I like the idea of the DOTs as well...was just an idea to draw cars that dont have dots already.
looking forward to the first race, Jason

No dice on the slicks right now. They won't make enough of a difference anyway. Guys are going 5.30's on ET Streets. Why would you even need slicks. We'll see how the races go. I'm looking at redoing the classes a little for next year.

If slicks don't make a difference over DOTs why not allow them? Some of us aren't gonna buy DOTs just for your race. Just my opinion.

Same argument every year. In a sense I agree, there isnt much difference, so why not let them, BUT on the other side of the argument, if you NEED slicks(regardless of size), then you are making enough power you need NOT be in the Fun Street class. This is supposed to be for street legal cars and the Fun Street class is for the lower buck of this type of racing, if there is such a thing.
I can see both sides of the coin, but it seems Fun Street with DOT's supported itself fairly decent with PPR, and now with it being even closer to Indy, I'm sure it will be a pretty full field at its first race under Mike's ownership.
(not arguing, just throwing my version of the light on the subject)
Oh and BTW Mike.....I probly wont have my ride their now. May come be part of a crew or something....lol.

My biggest defense of the DOT is that it personify's the whole Street Legal thing. Slicks don't make a difference at the 6.50 level, but they do going faster than that. The DOT's will stay. Come and run Phreak if you want to run slicks. There might be some fast cars there, but at least you will support the deal. If I see there are enough cars for another class I will start one. See you there.
